Janus still has a legacy of direct investors who manage their own Janus investments. This line of business is called “retail” and these investors use the retail site to start retirement/college/investment accounts and disburse their investments during life events like marriage, death or birth of a new child.

I worked with retail subject matter experts to develop original content for the newly-redesigned Janus Capital retail website. This included interviews, original research, and education in the nuances of securities vocabulary and FINRA compliance. The site not only drove existing investors to reallocate or re-evaluate their investment strategies, but provided best-practices on investing for life events as well as a limited education on mutual funds (including tax obligations, calculating cost basis, and how funds work). The material is both highly complex from a educational perspective, but, in the spirit of SEC guidelines, is written in “plain English.”
